IRES Travel grant consideration

IRES will start considering travel grant applications for 2023 for society leaders from AfRES and LARES as well as AsRES’s and PRRES’s developing countries to attend these sister society meetings.  Historically, grants average $1,000.

Preference will be given to applicants attending the joint PRRES-IRES conference.

In addition, preference is given to people who:

  • are attending a conference other than their “home” conference (except from developing countries),
  • are active leaders in their home society (future conference organizer, track or event chair, chapter officer, appointed position, or other leadership roles are all considered, not just elected officers),
  • will present a paper and/or participate on a panel at the conference, and
  • have not received travel funding from IRES before.

Academics are preferred to professionals and faculty are preferred to PhD students.

Applicants can send an email to Karen M. Gibler (IRES Executive Director) at kgibler@gsu.edu explaining which conference they want to attend, how they are active in their home society, how they will participate in the destination conference, expected total travel costs, and the amount of any other source of funding.  IRES can only reimburse for expenses after attending a conference.

The IRES Executive Committee considers applications as they arrive.  Please contact Karen M. Gibler with any questions.
